Let’s take a quick look back. On 8 May the Congregation ‘Alles voor Allen’ handed over the key to NHTV in an official ceremony. A week later the key to the convent was transferred to the construction company who will be preparing the construction and conversion work up to the end of July. Immediately after the construction workers’ holiday, the actual construction and conversion work will start, with the convent being due for completion in July 2018. But what about the rest of the campus?

Last weekend, the final event of the NHTV Festival Week took place. On Saturday 13 May, employees of NHTV and their families were invited to take a look around the convent. As the courtyard gardens will be roofed over, employees were offered a chance to dig out plants and shrubs and take them home. Meanwhile, the key has been handed over to the contractor who is currently preparing for the reconstruction stage. Reconstruction will start immediately after the construction workers’ holiday.

On Wednesday 10 May NHTV organised a Neighbourhood Day to inform local residents about the campus development and to give them the opportunity to take a look in the convent, which soon will be part of the new NHTV Campus. More than 300 neighbours came to the convent to celebrate our 50th anniversary with us! It was good to see that so many people are interested in our higher education institute and our campus plans.

On 8 May, NHTV received the keys of the convent. Many sisters of the congregation ‘Alles voor Allen’ were present during the ceremony. Hein van Oorschot and Nico van Os of NHTV’s Executive Board, Paul Depla, mayor of Breda, and sister Imelda of the congregation held speeches. They looked back on the past years and forward to the future. Nico van Os thanked the congregation for giving NHTV the opportunity to buy the convent.

We are happy to present you some impressions of the convent’s new interior. In due course, the convent will accommodate our academies of Tourism, Hotel and Facility. What a stunning location! Local residents of the Brabantpark area are invited to come over and take a look on 10 May next.
